Class Details
Everyone loves sourdough loaves—but sourdough starter has so much more to offer! In this hands-on class, we’ll explore one of my favorite ways to bring sourdough into the kitchen: handmade sourdough pasta.
Together, we’ll make pasta from scratch and prepare a beautiful, garden-inspired tomato short rib ragu using the abundance of the season. Then we’ll gather around the table to share a truly delicious family-style meal, made with good food, good company, and everything my garden has to offer.
In this class, you will:
- Learn how to use sourdough starter to make handmade pasta from scratch, served with a fresh garden tomato ragu.
- Receive a developed sourdough starter, lovingly replicated from my own, so you can continue your sourdough journey at home.
- Mix a batch of pasta dough to take home and practice making pasta with your loved ones.
- Take home a detailed recipe booklet filled with recipes from class, process photographs, and resources to guide you as you make sourdough pasta at home.
- Gather around the table for a beautiful, abundant family-style meal featuring the best of the garden.
- BYOB — bring your favorite beverage to enjoy with our meal.
This is more than a pasta-making class. It’s an invitation to slow down, make something by hand, share a meal, and experience the simple joy of nourishing ourselves and one another.
Come hungry. Leave connected, creative, inspired, and nourished.
About the Instructor:
My name is Ashley Smith and I am the woman who wears many hats! I am a mama, healing artist, health enthusiast, homesteader, mentor, and a self taught cook who loves to collaborate and share with others what I learn and practice. I have created Sacred Community Nourishment because I believe food is a sacred bridge to ourselves, each other, and the earth. Cooking, our relationship to food, and the communities we break bread with are deeply sacred. How I interact with food in my daily life is both practical and magical. When I teach classes, not only do I share techniques, I also teach how to weave magic into the mundane in an effort to improve life. I love gathering with groups and cooking together because as a community we can expand feelings of joy and connection while developing confidence and skills.
