Buffalo Cake Pops is excited to collaborate & open their kitchen to the community – we invite Sacred Community Nourishment to the bakery for some new baking classes- sourdough!

Sourdough Pop Tarts:

Pop Tarts??? Yes! But this time with sourdough. In this warm, hands-on class, we’ll turn sourdough into something a little nostalgic and a lot delicious—homemade “pop tarts” with a sweet, flaky, and slightly tangy crust. Inspired by 1980s breakfast treats and the hand pies my grandmother lovingly made, these pastries blend childhood joy with from-scratch tradition. You’ll learn how to transform sourdough into tender, golden pockets filled with sweet brown sugar and strawberry filling.

In this class you will…

  • Receive the gift of a developed sourdough starter that Ashley has replicated for you from her own and learn how to care for your sourdough starter for years to come.
  • Learn my full process and all the tips and tricks I use to make homemade sourdough pop tarts.
  • Create your own sweet pop tarts in class to take home and enjoy.
  • Go home prepared with a detailed recipe booklet with process images, recipes from class, and sourdough schedules that will support and guide you through making this recipe at home.
  • Taste samples baked fresh in class.
  • Enjoy being in the kitchen with the community!

I hope to see you there!! I can’t wait to share this process with you.

About the Instructor:

My name is Ashley Smith and I am the woman who wears many hats! I am a mama, healing artist, health enthusiast, homesteader, mentor, and a self taught cook who loves to collaborate and share with others what I learn and practice. I have created Sacred Community Nourishment because I believe food is a sacred bridge to ourselves, each other, and the earth. Cooking, our relationship to food, and the communities we break bread with are deeply sacred. How I interact with food in my daily life is both practical and magical. When I teach classes, not only do I share techniques, I also teach how to weave magic into the mundane in an effort to improve life. I love gathering with groups and cooking together because as a community we can expand feelings of joy and connection while developing confidence and skills.
